DIRECTV is seeking an Ad Sales, Head of Programmatic Sales to lead the strategy and execution of our programmatic business across Programmatic Guaranteed (PG), Private Marketplace (PMP), Local, and Open Exchange. This executive will represent DIRECTV Advertising’s programmatic portfolio, which includes CTV video and emerging native ad formats such as pause ads and digital out of home (DOOH), to agencies, trading desks, DSPs, resellers and brands.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving direct and indirect Programmatic revenue, managing the Programmatic Account Management team, and building the relationships and strategies that accelerate adoption and growth. The role carries ownership of revenue goals, innovation commercialization (Pause Ads, DIRECTV Remote), and the development of joint business plans with major demand sources.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Drive programmatic revenue across PG, PMP, and Open Exchange by developing and executing strategies that maximize yield and scale demand.
  • Build and manage executive-level relationships with senior stakeholders at agencies, DSPs, SSPs, client-direct, and local partners; negotiate complex agreements and unlock incremental budgets.
  • Oversee the Programmatic Account Management team to ensure flawless campaign execution, pacing, optimization, reporting, and client service.
  • Responsible for growth of digital local revenue by developing and managing reseller and platform partnerships that expand access to DIRECTV inventory for regional and small business advertisers.
  • Lead and mentor the Programmatic Yield and Analytics team, ensuring optimal inventory utilization that drives digital sellout to meet business goals and capture market demand.
  • Contribute as a key stakeholder to DIRECTV’s ad tech and data strategy, ensuring programmatic sales requirements are built into platform roadmaps, identity frameworks, and data partnerships.
  • Evolve and commercialize legacy offerings into programmatic innovations from alpha concept to general availability, including DIRECTV Remote (Digital Out of Home) & Pause Ads.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Marketing, Product, Yield, Operations, and Finance to develop strategies that bring to market new ad formats and data solutions.
  • Lead executive programmatic business cadences, including the Programmatic Monthly Review (PMR), covering revenue pacing, pipeline, supply utilization, partner performance, and optimizations.
  • Represent DIRECTV Advertising at industry events and conferences as a programmatic thought leader.
  • Champion operational excellence by standardizing processes, reporting, and SLAs across programmatic sales and account management.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or advanced degree nice to have.
  • 15+ years in digital advertising, with at least 10 years of leadership in programmatic sales, demand partnerships, or account management.
  • Deep expertise in programmatic ecosystem dynamics: SSPs, DSPs, auction mechanics, SPO, and emerging trends.
  • Proven track record of hitting and exceeding revenue targets, with experience managing large-scale partnerships.
  • Executive-level presence with strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in Excel and BI/reporting tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, influencing across functions and levels.

This role requires but is not limited to 15% travel.

This is a New York City, NY, based position that works both in-office (2 days/week) and remotely. #LI-Remote

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position and work location(s) listed in the job posting US Labor Market Zone(s). Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONE

N4: $226,780 - $340,170

Please note that the salary ranges reflect base salary only and do not include bonus or benefits - when you consider all of these together, it represents a pretty impressive total compensation package.
