Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Continuously evaluate portfolio health, prioritization, and alignment with evolving business and technology strategy.

Financial Oversight & Reporting

  • Provide oversight, guidance, and quality assurance for portfolio-level financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and executive-ready financial communication and reporting across all portfolio initiatives.
  • Partner with finance and business stakeholders to align resource allocation with portfolio priorities.

Governance & Cross-Organizational Collaboration

  • Work closely with leaders of Project and Program Management Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to shape and enforce best practices, standards, and methodologies.

  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment on priorities, dependencies, and resource conflicts across multiple business areas.

Risk & Dependency Management

  • Identify, assess, and manage complex risks, issues, and dependencies spanning multiple initiatives and business units.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and escalation paths for high-impact or ambiguous problems, applying innovative and strategic solutions.
  • Proactively monitor cross-portfolio dependencies to prevent downstream delivery or financial impacts.

Mentorship & Capability Building

  • Establish and lead formal mentorship relationships with project and program managers across multiple organizations.
  • Coach and develop talent, sharing portfolio management best practices and technical domain expertise.
  • Lead initiatives to elevate the overall quality of work and raise the capability of the broader PM/PgM community.

Technical & Domain Expertise

  • Apply deep, cross-domain technical knowledge to guide decision-making on complex, ambiguous problems.
  • Integrate knowledge across multiple technical disciplines and specialties to deliver sound, well-reasoned portfolio outcomes.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, methodologies, and industry trends relevant to the managed portfolios.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Proven track record of successfully leading multiple concurrent, high-complexity initiatives to completion.

Technical & Domain Expertise

  • Subject matter expert with a demonstrated ability to master and operate across multiple technical business domains.
  • Advanced knowledge of portfolio management methodologies, frameworks, and industry best practices (e.g., PMI, SAFe, Agile/Scrum, hybrid delivery models).
  • Working knowledge of relevant technical infrastructure, systems, or platforms applicable to the organization's portfolio.

Leadership & Soft Skills
