Director, Sales Operations

DIRECTV is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales Operations to lead strategic initiatives that optimize sales performance and drive revenue growth. This leadership role is responsible for managing complex sales operations projects, implementing process improvements, and serving as a key liaison between corporate strategy and regional sales teams. The successful candidate will be instrumental in establishing policies, procedures, and communication frameworks that enable the sales organization to achieve ambitious business objectives while maintaining operational excellence.

Here's what you’ll do:

Outbound Telemarketing

  • Direct and manage staff that is responsible for all in-house and 3rd Party Outbound Telemarketing sales and activities.
  • Execute OTM programs and strategy as well as ensure appropriate performance metrics (budget) are met for the entire national channel.
  • Report OTM connects and revenue activity to leadership, as well as mediate and negotiate Master Services Agreements, Statement of Work contracts, internal and external incentives, etc.
  • Responsible for all growth and scale of this channel, as well as the strategy to drive performance to budget.

Sales Operations Leadership

  • Lead and manage end-to-end Outbound Telemarketing sales activities and projects that directly support sales organization effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with business unit objectives and revenue targets.
  • Lead all functional reviews and provide updates to the leadership team, recommending strategy changes as appropriate. Regularly review and analyze contact results.
  • Drive organizational change management to ensure successful adoption of new processes and systems.
  • Keep OTM workforce informed, in a timely manner, regarding business objectives, schedules, and goals. Proactively facilitate the design and execution of mutually beneficial strategic plans.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define sales operations strategy and roadmap.

Policy & Process Management

  • Design, develop, and implement sales policies and procedures to standardize operations across regions.
  • Establish governance frameworks to ensure compliance with sales processes and corporate guidelines.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sales operations activities.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize existing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure OTM channel abides by all applicable statutes and regulations, including the TCPA, State and federal DNC legislation, and the Telemarketing Sales Rule.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, equipment, techniques, and legislation.

Regional Sales Support & Communication

  • Provide strategic direction and operational guidance to regional sales organizations.
  • Serve as primary liaison between corporate headquarters and field sales teams.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies to ensure consistent messaging across all regions.
  • Facilitate training and onboarding programs for new policies and procedures.
  • Support regional sales leaders in implementing corporate initiatives at the local level.

Project Management & Execution

  • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Finance, and IT.
  • Develop project timelines, resource allocation plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to executive leadership.
  • Manage the implementation of all new telemarketing campaigns including but not limited to leads segmentation and delivery, scripting, training, reporting considerations, hours planning, and general dialing strategy.
  • Effectively manage the telemarketing campaigns including front-end and back-end sales performance.

Performance Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze sales performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Track and measure sales efforts, when necessary, conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve any breakdowns within the sales cycle.
  • Create executive-level reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with regional sales leadership.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to optimize sales processes and outcomes.

What you’ll need to be successful:

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • 5 – 7 years of progressive experience in sales operations, business operations, or related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale sales operations projects.
  • Experience working with regional or distributed sales organizations.

Leadership & Management Skills

  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent change management and organizational development skills.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive results without direct authority.
  • Experience in policy development and process standardization.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in sales performance analysis.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $105,830 - $192,050

Low (N1): $105,830 - $158,650

Mid (N2): $111,400 - $167,000

High (N3): $122,540 - $183,700

Top (N4): $128,110 - $192,050
