An ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks at once and streamlining processes across a multitude of cross-functional partners. The role will drive programs and initiatives for the Finance team, establishing cadence, action items, stakeholders, and solutions that align with DIRECTV organizational priorities. In addition, this role serves to provide a wide range of needed support to the CFO and will require out of the box thinking. Financial acumen is a must. This is a high-visibility role that will report to the AVP, Finance – Business Operations & Strategy under the CFO, with significant exposure to the DIRECTV CEO, CFO, CMO and other key members of the Executive Leadership Team.

They are abreast of potential impacts to the Finance team through ongoing connections with cross functional partners and are extremely organized when it comes to upcoming events/deliverables in both the short and long term. They will be responsible for supporting and improving the Finance team's effectiveness through planning, prioritization, and driving/implementing follow-ups, and serve as a critical partner for leaders across the organization - coordinating and connecting teams to ensure work streams are moving quickly and in the right direction. The candidate serves as a lead of business operations for Finance under the direct guidance of the CFO, aligning tasks across the organization.

It cannot be stressed enough: this role will directly shape the outcome of the business.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, MBA from top-tier institution a plus

  • Financial Acumen: Must understand the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and return on investment; can build models and explain drivers
  • Executive Presence: Communication skills at the executive level; ability to tell the story in a crisp, concise manner to influence an audience of all levels with potentially less expertise on the subject
  • In addition to executive presence, candidate must be a skilled visual communicator: can paint a story clearly through building clear and concise decks that synthesize complex information for an executive audience
  • Relationships are key to success: Cross-functional engagement with other areas of the business (Marketing, Product, Sales, HR, etc.) is a key element of this role. The candidate will need to build and maintain good relationships with these partners to ensure problems and deliverables are prioritized
  • Program/Project Management: Candidate is a skilled multitasker who is the go-to person for championing key initiatives across the organization including Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Legal, as well as internal Finance projects.
  • Highly organized and experienced in prioritizing and managing multiple cross-functional large-scale projects at once
  • Problem Solving: Ability to turn strategic questions with vague but complex data into actionable, process-driven initiatives; must be able to evaluate at a 10,000-foot view but understand the nuanced nitty-gritty details behind drivers
  • Ability to maintain discretion is required – candidate will have access to information that has not yet been widely shared.
  • Hungry to learn and grow: this role will require dedication to making sure the task at hand is completed and accurate. A candidate must be excited to learn new areas of the business with a commitment to getting the job done.
