Here's what you’ll do:

• Participate in design discussion, develop and deliver resilient and scalable microservice architectures for channel and guide metadata processing

• Mentor your fellow team members, upholding quality standards through peer code review and automated testing

• Collaborate with architects, product owners and other engineering teams to design and architect robust end-to-end solutions

• Own your services end-to-end, from ideation to production deployment and performance monitoring

• Keep up to date with industry technology and be passionate about high-quality software engineering

• Host demo presentations of POCs and development progress to peers and management
  

Here’s what you’ll need:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline

• 5+ years of software development experience with client-server architectures and distributed systems

• Experience with Java and/or Go

• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell, Perl, etc.)

• Excellent knowledge of microservices, AWS Lambda, NoSQL database (DynamoDB), RESTful Web Services, and event-based messaging (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.)

• A solid understanding of cloud computing services and management and alerting/monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana and Kibana

• Experience working with Elasticsearch is a plus

This position can earn between $105,000 - $210,100. Not to mention all of the other amazing rewards that working at DIRECTV offers.
