Here’s what you’ll do:
- Utilize development tools and processes throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of solutions that will be used to increase speed, reduce cost, and improve quality of the Platform Engineering delivery efforts under the guidance of senior team members.
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
- Collaborates with application teams to ensure that Platform Engineering delivery meets or exceeds the agreed upon product quality goals and metrics.
- Supports application teams across production / non-production environments and solves configuration and environment issues.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and practices.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to the team's projects.
- Document code, processes, and technical specifications as required.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver them with minimal direct oversight.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Intern – 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in building cloud-native solutions using AWS services such as S3, OpenSearch, Lambda; and integration platforms such as MuleSoft and Confluent (Kafka).
- Experience in current technologies/practices including SaaS/PaaS/IaaS, micro-services, APIs, event streaming, DevSecOps/CI/CD, and application architecture design.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++, JavaScript).
- Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
- Knowledge of database technologies and SQL.
- Familiarity with web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, RESTful APIs).
- Basic understanding of software design patterns and principles.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $87,400 - $158,700
Low (N1): $87,400 - $131,100
Mid (N2): $92,000 - $138,000
High (N3): $101,200 - $151,800
Top (N4): $105,800 - $158,700
